Brooks was born on March 15th, five minutes before his twin brother Brent Wilson, in Terra Haute, Indiana. Within a year, the family had moved to Miami, Florida where his father and mother took jobs as school teachers. As a born entrepreneur, Brooks, from the age of four, like his brother Brent, was always looking for something to trade or sell. In Miami, he and Brent were selling homegrown grapefruits from street-side to folks who were passing by. When the family moved to Marietta, Georgia it was selling mistletoe, and anything else the brothers could get their hands on, door-to-door to folks in the neighborhood. At the age of 14 the family moved once again to a 40-acre farm in Jackson, Georgia, a rural community south of Atlanta.

After completing high school, Brooks and Brent moved to Marietta, Georgia to launch what would become the brothers first in a series of business partnerships: a landscape design-build firm and lawn maintenance company that grew to become one of the most well-respected in the north Atlanta metro area. After seven years in Marietta, Brooks decided it was time to sell the landscape design-build business and open up a nursery and garden center. So, the brothers sold the company in Marietta and moved back to the south side of Atlanta to open Wilson Bros Nursery, where it remains to this day as a thriving business in McDonough, Georgia.

Brooks considers himself to be the management side in the brothers longstanding business partnership though he is involved in the creative side as well. He says this about his brother Brent: "Brent is usually the visionary who comes up with where our business will go next. He'll work tirelessly to keep our business on the cutting edge...finding new ways to provide our customers with accurate gardening information and products they can use to become better gardeners. While I'm usually working on day-to-day operations, Brent is working with our website team to find the next way to better serve our customers by way of the Internet."

We really make a good business team." When not working at the nursery or on the websites, you will most likely find Brooks in his home recording studio, enjoying activities with his daughter or with Brent brainstorming new ways to move forward with the business. Brooks now lives with his family in Henry County, Georgia.
