Adding Plants to your Business Profile

Gardenality Businesses can add plants to their Gardenality Business Profile. This means that if your business sells plants, you can list your business as a "Where to Buy" local source on any of the Plant Files in Gardenality. This is great because it lets members and visitors to Gardenality know where to buy plants in their area and it nhelps them to find your company!

How to list your company as a Where To Buy source on a Plant File

  1. First go into your personal Gardener Profile. Then click on the Businesses & Organizations tab. The click on the manage My Businesses link that appears below the tab.
  2. Then click on the name of the business you want add as Where To Buy sources on Gardenality Plant Files.
  3. Now you should be in your Business profile Manager. Click on the green 'Plants' tab.
  4. Then click on the "Click here add or change the plants you sell »" link
  5. Now type in one word of the name of the plant you would like to add. For example, if it is a "Carissa Holly," type in the word "Carissa" or "Holly." If you type in the word Holly all varieties of hollies in the Gardenality Plant Files will show up.
  6. Then click on the box to the left of the plant name to put a check mark in it. If you are an online company put a link to a page in your webstore. You're done!

How It Works

After adding your business as a source for a plant, your business will be listed under the "Buy It" tab on that Plant File. When visitors to the Plant File click on the Buy It tab, your company name and a link to its Gardenality Business Profile and/or a page in your company's webstore will appear in the list of "sources".

What if a member made a mistake adding a business profile? Folks sometimes change membership in organizations. Then they would need to delete their business profile entry. There has to be a delete feature when editing a profile. I need to delete b/c I mentioned an organization, but it's not entirely green, it's more technological. This format exludes a delete feature for each affiliation. Folks might make mistakes with it since it's so complex to grasp. Folks might drop out of their listed affiliations and would want to delete mention of them because they dropped out over philosophical differences with the organizations. Anyway, I'm just learning this format, it is rather complex with long running scripts, and the world wasn't made in one day, it was made in six, so I'm not worried that there is no delete button or X button by each business profile entry, a complete format can't all be made at first apparently. Maybe you know how to remove entries of businesses and organizations associated with a member's profile.
