About Kudzu Elimination Project June 2011:

This is a project to eliminate the invasive Kudzu from our property, if it's possible to get it all. This is not a fun project but hoping it pays off in the long run before it takes over and smothers my trees, desired landscape areas and woodland areas. Thank you Brent Wilson for your article on how this process works. It was not expensive to set up. Probably a $50.00 investment to start with the Roundup being the MOST expensive cost.

This project is not a fun one but hopefully pays off in the long run. I'm using a suggestion found in the Weed Control Article section published by Brent Wilson. Wish me luck!

Progress notes 6/8/11: It's taking a little longer than I had expected. I think I need to reposition the twigs stuck in the tubes so there are no bends or kinks in the vine at the tube opening. Some vines are looking like they are on the demise but others look like they have not been effected quite the same.

Progress notes 06/13/11: Saturday I moved tubes to new vines and made sure that the tubes were lying on the ground rather that sticking up in the dirt. The vine kinks if the tube sticks straight up which keeps the vine from sipping on the weed killer. The new vines feeding on the tubes of round-up are starting to show signs that the roundup is doing its job.
