Powis Castle Artemisia requires nr pruning during the active growth season. Pruning actually may hurt the look of the plant. When left to grow naturally, and given room to do so (6-8' diameter), Powis Castle forms a very soft and attractive mound of foliage. In late winter, if the foliage has deteriorated somewhat, you can cut this plant back as far as you like. I usually remove about 90% of the stems. It'll flush back out in a hurry when warmer temps arrive.

I never feed Powis Castle artemesia. I suppose you could. If so, use a real mild organic plant food.

I've found no serious pest or disease problems with Powis Castle artemesia. This plant actually help to repel some insects. Deer won't eat it either. Only problem I can think of is wet soil. It likes very well-drained soil.

Plant Powis Castle artemisia in sites that provide very well-drained soil and plenty of sunshine. Wet feet is a killer and shade just makes it grow too thin.
