Do Dogwood trees have a stong smell, good or bad?

Answer #1 · John Heider's Answer · Hi LB-None of the dogwoods in the vacinity of my home have ever had a smell or fragrance of any kind. I believe a fragrant dogwood would be unusual. I did find a cultivar that supposedly has a nice lightly scented white flower. This is the cultivar 'Fragrant Cloud'. Other than this there doesn't seem to be any reputable articles I have found that would substantiate any foul smell from a dogwood.
