Answer #2 · Doug Hansen's Answer · We have Muhly grass starting in zone 6a so depending on how far NE in the state it might be questionable. If it was to be tried, I would mulch it heavily for the winter and hope for the best. Zones 6a and 5b meet up there in that general area so...)

The USDA Hardiness Zones in Pennsylvania range from 6A, 6B, and 7A. Muhly Grass will survive as far north as Zone 6A. You are right at the farthest area north in which Muhly Grass will survive. This being said, during an extremely cold winter, damage may occur.
