Answer #2 · Gardenality.com's Answer · Hi Celeste,

Corning, California is in Zone 9A.

The Rabbiteye family of Blueberry plants is best for Zone 9A. Here's a list of them:

-Premier Blueberry

- Tifblue Blueberry

-Woodard Blueberry

-Becki Blue Blueberry

-Climax Blueberry

-Powder Blue Blueberry

Note: You will need to plant more than one variety for cross pollination. The more varieties you plant the better.

Hope this helps you.

Answer #1 · Samantha Steele's Answer · Hi Celeste,

Duke Blueberry is a Northern Highbush variety that is hardy in USDA Zones 4-8. Corning California is in Zone 9 so Duke is probably not the best choice for your area? It's the Rabbiteye blueberry varieties that are best for warmer climates. I'm in Zone 8a of Georgia and all we grow here are the Rabbiteyes. Blueberries require cross pollination so make sure you always plant at least two different varieties!

Hope this was helpful! Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!
