Answer #1 · Brent Wilson's Answer · I've found that in my garden here in Georgia the following plants are good for attracting various types of pollinating bees. Since you're in Zone 8, these should work for you as well.

Achillea, Agastache, Anemone, Asters, Buddleia, Centaureas, Clematis, Echinacea, Eryngium, Eupatorium, Helianthus, Gaillardia, Helleborus, Honesuckles, Impatiens, Lavander, Lavatera, Leucanthemum, Penstemon, Potentilla, Rosemary, Russian, Sage, Salvia (Especially Bog Salvia), Sedums, Veronicas, and Zinnias. There's many more, but this should be a good start.

Since Mason bees are one of the best pollinators you might also want to consider putting up a Mason bee house. If you get one of these, make sure to put it on the southside of your home or some other structure. Oh, and Mason bees don't sting:-))
