Answer #1 · Brent Wilson's Answer · I've always used beer for controlling slugs. Pour beer into jar lids or any low-profile dishes. Set these around where the slugs are traveling. They gravitate to it. When they go into the beer...well, let's just say that's the end of their journey here on earth. If you are looking for the organic solution, buy organic beer. Let me know if this works for you.)

It is crazy but it works like a charm! I guess the slugs can't get enough of the sauce. :)

Good use of the half empty beer cans my husband leaves behind after dinner!

LOL...it sure is! If we ever have a problem with slugs in our garden I'll have to start buying beer in the can instead of bottles. Not sure if New Castle puts their beer in a can? Your husband isn't the only one who doesn't always finish a beer:-)

I'm going to start saving old beer from now on. This really works. I have trays full of slugs this weekend. Had not really seen that many signs of slugs yet this year but the beer just drew them out!

Answer #2 · Sandy McGinnis's Answer · When I find them on my deck during the rainy season (which here lately has been NONE) I sprinkle them with a little salt. They instantly shrivel up and die. Later I just rinse the deck with the garden hose.)
