Hi Carol-Are these mandevillas planted in pots or in the ground? It sounds as though you planted them last year and they did fine and grew fast all summer. Were these plants left outside in the winter? These mandevillas as hardy to zone 10a. I believe Ashburnham MA. is in USDA Hardiness zone 5b which is too cold for the mandevillas to survive during the winter. These plants can be grown in pots so that they can be overwintered indoors during temperatures below 50 degrees F. Let me know if these plants were grown in pots and overwintered indoors. If so there may be some reason they did not survive indoors during the winter.
