Answer #2 · Maple Tree's Answer · Hi Merle-Sorry your question wasn't answered quickly. We try and get back to you within one day. Yes, the Live Forever also known as Hen and Chicks can be divided. Over a period of time the mother plant will grow offshoots. The offshoots or baby plants may have already started putting out some roots of their own. If not they are still attached to the mother plant by a stem which they are receiving nutrients through. Loosen the soil around the base of the small chicks and lift it from the soil. Whether it has some roots of its own or only attached to the mother plant with the stem they can be separated from the mother plant and replanted. Just cut through the stem if they are still attached. Place the plant aside in a warm, shaded location for a couple of hours so the cut can dry sealing the stem. Dig a hole in the garden or fill a pot with well draining potting soil. Set the new plant in the hole and cover the roots and or the cut stem with soil. Keep the soil moist not wet until the plant has developed some roots which at that time watering can be cut back as therse succulents need very little water once established. I noted a link below to a question and its answer that was asked previously regarding the growing of this plant also. This question and answer will also help in answering your question.
