Tall Bushes Next To A Retaining Wall

Filed Under: Trees, Shrubs · Keywords: Retaining Wall, privacy, Sun, Flowers · 106 Views
have a ranch house with walkout basement in Michigan. The previous bushes caused the 4 foot tall wood retaining wall to bulge. Re-enforced the wall with posts in cement. Problem is, I need tall bushes to create privacy between me and very close house next door. During summer, they might get 4-5 hours of sun. Is arborvitae my only option? I would really like something that flowers.

Answer #1 · Matt Heidke's Answer · The best answer I have for the situation you are in is an Arborvitae. You might also consider some Tea Olives or some Holly. I will add links below. If someone knows of some other options that have worked out I hope they post them here for you.

Thank you so much. I guess arborvitae is my best solution. Thanks for the links too.
