Chances are your Carolina Sapphire Cypress don't have a disease. Due to lack of sunlight, most conifers (cypress, cedars, junipers, pines, arborvitae) naturally shed their inner twigs/stems as they grow larger due to lack of sunlight. That being said, if this die-off starts to spread outwards there could be a problem. In that case you might want to have an arborist take a look at them. Or you can upload pictures to your question here and I can take a closer look for you. But, without seeing them, my gut feeling is if the trees look fine on the outside they should be okay.
