Can I plant Florida Bluebells from cuttings, do I have to root them first or plant them right in the dirt?

There are a couple of plants that go by the common name "Florida Bluebells." I'm assuming you're referring to Ruellia, what I call "Mexican Petunia."

There's several ways you can propagate Ruellia. You can do it by root divisions, stem cuttings, or from seed.

If you propagate them from cuttings, you'll need to root them first before planting them in the ground. They root fairly easy when planting in a moist potting soil or potting mix. Just plant the cutting in anything from a 4" pot to a 1 gallon container. When the roots have filled the pot you can safely transplant them in the ground.
