Answer #2 · Logan Beckwith's Answer · This is kind of a hard question to answer. It depends what you want to do with the plants really. I can tell you 8 plants that are used in Alchemy for general well-being and health.

In Alchemy they link certain healing properties and stuff with the 7 major celestial bodies. (Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and the Moon.) Then they link the plant that is influence by that celestial body. So if you used that plant linked to that planet, then you would be healing or promoting health in area linked to that planet. Make sense? (If not, I can clarify further.)

Horsetail - Saturn
Lemon Balm - Jupiter
Basil - Mars
Eyebright - Sun
Lady's Mantle - Venus
Fennel - Mercury
Watercress - Moon
And some like to use Sundew for Earth since it is influenced by all 7 planets.

These are all easy to grow but do some research for yourself on them before you do anything with them to see if they suit your needs. Like I said: this is just basic herbs for general health and wellness. Nothing that's gonna cure cancer or anything. lol)

Answer #3 · Logan Beckwith's Answer · If you are interested in plants for medicinal use and health I would suggest a book:

The Path of Alchemy: Energetic Healing & the World of Natural Magic
by Mark Stavish.

Even if you aren't into the meditation and the beliefs of Alchemist it still tells you how to prepare the plants for use, what can be done with them, as well as what each planet corresponds to and so on. Good book. Basic information that will help you get started with either medicinal chemistry or alchemy.)

Answer #1 · Gardenality.com's Answer · I know about a lot of the plants that are used for medicinal purposes and how to grow them, but I don't know much about how to use or prepare them. I know that echinacea, Solomons Seal, and many herbs are used for medicinal purpose, but I'd suggest researching or consulting with an expert as to how to go about harvesting and preparing the plants for use.)
