· The USDA Zones do change from time to time. Last I looked at the zone map it appeared that most of Atlanta would be in 8a. I'm on the Southside of Atlanta and when I entered my zip code in the zone finder it said 7b. With the more mild winters we've been experiencing over the past 25 or so years I'd say 8a. Either way, the zones aren't entirely accurate but are still a good gauge. For the most part, most plants that are hardy in 7b and 8b are also hardy in 8a.
Right now, we're working on a zone finder for Gardenality and, since the site is going global, are considering a global zone map.)
