Question About Black Hens And Chicks

Filed Under: Perennial Plants · Keywords: My, Hi, Growing, Question, May, Soil, There, Pots · 175 Views
My hen and chicks are in a big rock with holes all over. A lot of the holes are now filled with black dry leaves-my question is should I clean those out and maybe put potting soil in there so the chicks can spread to these spots??
Thanks,
Judy

Answer #1 · Brent Wilson's Answer · Hi Judy - Removing the leaves and filling filling the holes in the rocks with a sandy potting soil, top soil, or native soil sounds like a good idea to me if you want the hens and chicks to spread to these spots. Just make sure the soil you use is well-draining.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
