Answer #1 · John Heider's Answer · Mill - Papaver somniferum (White Cloud Poppy) is an annual, which means they will grow, flower, fruit and seed in one year. They will die back to the ground in winter. If you elect not to deadhead the flowers they will reseed each year. The large seed pods at the end of the season contains a large amount of seed, which is self-sowing. The plants will invariably come right back in the same spot year after year, making it a cheap and easy annual plant.
