Plant Identification

Filed Under: Perennial Plants, Groundcover Plants · Keywords: Hi, Ground Cover, Seed, Seeding, June, Plant, About · 205 Views
This ground cover (or perhaps self seeding plant) was given to me by a neighbor.
It is amazingly drought tolerant. They stand about 2 ft high.
These wonderful floret spikes appear in June that gracefully cascade downward.
Anyone? …Anyone? …Beuller? …Beuller?

Holy smokes you guys are awesome!

I just searched the name in Google and clicked on images and there it was.
AKA Gooseneck Loosestrife.

Write ups say it prefers moist, rich, humus soil and this sample was plucked from a prolific sea of it growing in the hardest, driest Georgia clay.
It is really beautiful.

Many thanks!

Answer #1 · Brooks Wilson's Answer · It kinda looks like a Phlox Paniculata. The arching bloom has me puzzled. I'll keep researching to see if I can find out what it is for sure.
